The Fifth Annual Expo offered comprehensive health screenings, educational workshops, a variety of vendors, speakers, performers and a wealth of health-oriented information.

Expo attendees could visit 49 vendors and exhibitors and participate in 19 health screenings. Over the course of the day 1,371 people were screened for various diseases.

Featured speakers included Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, Presiding Prelate, Thirteenth Episcopal District, African Methodist Episcopal Church, Susan L . Taylor, Editor Emerita Essence Magazine and Founder, National Cares Movement and Richard Roundtree, actor and breast cancer survivor.

The Main Stage hosted a variety of activities including a hair and fashion show, line dance showcase with participation from 13 groups and musical performers.

National recording artists Michael Henderson, Ronnie Laws and Angela Winbush entertained the crowd with rousing performances.

The Moovin’ and Groovin’ stage showed how easily exercise can be incorporated into daily activities through fitness demonstrations, line and salsa dancing and Double Dutch jump roping.

The closing event of the day was the First Annual Cincinnati Stompfest, a step competition. Twelve step teams from around the country competed to win the top prize.

Thank you to the over 125 community and business partners, the 14 corporate sponsors and volunteers who put in more than 24,000 hours to make this year’s event a great success.
